Replacement pipes and dummies are only intended for purposes other than road traffic and are not permitted in the area of road traffic regulations. Exhaust parts such as complete silencer systems, front, middle or rear silencers as well as catalysts WITHOUT EC approval, general operating permit (ABE) or TUV certificate can lead to the expiry of the operating license and the decommissioning of the vehicle. In case of catalyst replacement pipes and dummies, there is a risk of tax evasion report and a possible investigation by the environmental authority. In general, the following applies: changes to a vehicle that worsen noise behavior, lead to the expiry of the operating license in accordance with Par. 19 Para. 2 No. 3 StVZO and are not permitted in the area of road traffic regulations.
