Der hoch aufgeladene MINI Steuerungs-Kat kommt zum Einsatz wenn ein Katalysator aus dem Auspuffsystem entfernt oder in eine andere Position im System verlegt wird und dadurch die gemessenen Reduktionswerte nicht mehr stimmen. Auch die Verwendung eines 100 Cell Race Cats kann die Verwendung des MINI Steuerungskats erforderlich machen. Er wird in die Aufnahme der zweiten Lambdasonde, zwischen Auspuff und Lambdasonde geschraubt und versorgt die zweite Lambdasonde mit Schadstoffreduzierten Abgasdaten. Eine Angleichung der Steuerungselektronik ist somit in der Regel nicht mehr erforderlich.
